• Dedicated waiting areas 

  • Separate cat, dog and exotic pet waiting areas reduce stress and keep your pets as comfortable as possible whilst waiting to be seen

  • Fresh air system throughout the practice to remove smells of previous patients and circulate fresh air

  • Use of pheromone and calming diffusers and provision of blankets and raised areas for cat baskets within the waiting area to minimise stress

 

• Consultations

  • 15 minute consultations allow thorough examination and discussion of our findings and treatment options 

  • Consultations are available for all conditions, whether routine check ups or care of an unwell pet

  • We stock a full range of medications to treat most conditions quickly and effectively

• Routine and non routine/emergency surgery including neutering

  • 2 dedicated operating theatres with full monitoring equipment including ECG, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, capnography and temperature control with heated operating tables

  • keeping your pet safe is our priority so our anaesthetic protocols are tailored to each patient and include Isoflurane and Sevoflurane (a gaseous anaesthetic used in human paediatric surgery) 

  • Whenever possible (even for routine surgery, unlike many practices) intravenous catheters are placed

  • Pets are monitored throughout surgery and recovery by qualified veterinary nurses, not lay staff 

  • Neutering has many benefits including reducing unwanted kittens, reducing urine spraying in males, reducing the chance of mammary tumours and preventing pyometra (infection of the uterus) and testicular tumours 

  • Although spay and castration are classed as “routine surgery” we believe we should still provide the best available care for your pet and as part of the neutering package we include pain relief following the surgery to ensure your pet is comfortable during their recovery and post operation check ups 

  • We are able to neuter cats from 4 months of age

  • We can perform a complete range of Orthopaedic, soft tissue and opthalmic surgery ​

• Dental care

  • An important aspect of caring for your cat

  • Tartar and the associated bacteria not only lead to bad breath but also cause gum disease

  • These bacteria can then enter your pet’s blood stream causing infection in other areas of the body including infection of the heart valves

  • FREE OF CHARGE dental clinics are available with our nurses offering advice on dental care as well as dental scale, polish, tooth extraction, dental radiographs and dental abscess treatment

  • We also stock specific diets to help control dental disease

• Hospitalisation

  • for short or long term cases

  • Hospitalised pets remain at the surgery overnight cared for by the vet and nurse on duty with no requirement to transport them elsewhere for overnight care

  • Separate cat, dog and exotic pet wards minimise stress

  • Cat ward kennels are large and raised off the ground to make our patients feel safer

    •  Made of fibreglass to help patients retain heat, especially important for sick pets and following anaesthetics 

    • Arranged along one wall to ensure no cats face each other as this is recognised as a cause of stress to cats

  • A fresh air scavenging system ensures the atmosphere is always fresh and comfortable 

  • Separate Isolation ward for any potentially infectious cases to minimise disease spread

  • Hospitalised patients are monitored by our vets and nurses to ensure they always receive the best possible care

  • Nebulisation and oxygen therapy are available for pets with breathing difficulties

  • We stock a range of nutritionally complete diets to encourage your pet to eat the best diet for their particular condition during their stay

  • If your pet is staying with us, you are welcome to visit them. This can normally be arranged at a mutually convenient time

  • Urine analysis including crystal detection 

  • Blood analysis (including haematology to assess platelet, red and white blood cell numbers, and biochemistry to assess organ function, including the thyroid, as well as assessment of electrolytes)

  • Allows rapid patient side monitoring and diagnosis even outside of normal working hours offering you and your pet the best treatment as fast as possible

  • Blood analysers requiring only 0.1ml of blood making them suitable for even the smallest kittens and sickest patients

 

• Senior Pet care

  • We offer FREE OF CHARGE Senior Pet clinics with our nurses for advice and a complete healthcheck

  • In house “MOT” blood tests are available to detect early signs of disease

• Microchip Implantation

  • Recommended for any outdoor cats making your pet easily identifiable if they are ever lost or stolen and seen at a vets, RSPCA, police, or rescue centre 

  • Once scanned you can be quickly reunited

  • We offer discounted microchip implantation at the time of booster vaccination, neutering and to VIP Club members

 

• Kitten Clinics

  • FREE OF CHARGE clinics run by our nurses for kittens during their first year of life

  • Clinics monitor your new arrival to ensure they remain healthy, assessing the most effective form of flea and worm control for your kittens lifestyle, and discussing any problems you may have

 

• Diagnostic Imaging Suite

  • Digital x-ray and Ultrasound machine able to perform high quality images  

    • Ultrasound including Colour Doppler to assist investigating heart disease and pregnancy diagnosis 

    • Our ultrasound machine enables biopsy of some areas of abnormal appearance without the need for surgery

  • Dental x-ray particularly important in investigating gingivostomatitis (gum disease) and Feline oral resorptive lesions

  • Endoscopy - our 4 video endoscopes allow investigation of the gastrointestinal, respiratory and urgenital systems often allowing foreign body removal and tumour biospy and removal without the requirement for surgery ​​

  • Onsite CT Scanner allowing advanced imaging including tumour staging, surgical planning and disease investigation

  • ECG machine used to monitor and detect abnormal electrical impulses of the heart

  • We can begin vaccinating kittens at 8 weeks old and can vaccinate against Feline Influenza (flu), Feline Infectious Enteritis, Feline Leukaemia and Rabies if required

  • As part of your initial kitten vaccinations we believe in giving your kitten the best start to life and will include 5 weeks FREE pet insurance as well as a FREE worm and flea treatment and kitten pack

  • None of our products are sold on a commission basis so you can be confident any recommendation is made in the best interest of your pet

• PETS Passports

  • Our vets are Official Veterinarians meaning we can complete the paperwork and examinations required for import, export and PETS Travel Scheme Passports

  • Please note some of these services can take several months so we recommend contacting us well in advance and contacting DEFRA to confirm your requirements on PETS Helpline 0870 241 1710

 

• Pregnancy

  • A stressful and exciting time!

  • Pregnancy confirmation is possible with our ultrasound machine to help you plan for you new arrivals - we can even provide digital photos if you supply a USB stick so you have a lasting memory of the new arrivals!

  • Experienced friendly vets and nurses are happy to offer advice for anyone considering breeding as well as providing neonatal care for kittens

• Repeat Prescriptions

  • Please allow at least 48 working hours notice

  • Written prescriptions can be provided on request, please note there is a small charge for this to cover administration costs

  • The law requires animals on medication to be examined by a vet at regular intervals determined by the type of medication

 

• Insurance Claim Forms

  • Please remember to bring a claim form at the time of treatment.

  • We regret we are only able to make “direct claims” with certain companies, however, we can complete claim forms for all companies. Please contact us for more advice regarding the benefits of insurance
